According to news
reports, the CFTC is currently investigating allegations that Goldman Sachs
has been manipulating the price of aluminum by releasing it too slowly from
warehouses it owns through a subsidiary. The CFTC will probably develop a
fuller story of what did or did not happen than was contained in the original New York Times article
on this subject, which I criticized.
This is clearly something the CFTC should investigate.
